GLA:D®, or Good Life with Arthritis: Denmark, is an education and exercise program developed by researchers in Denmark for people with hip or knee osteoarthritis symptoms.
Osteoarthritis is the most common lifestyle disease in individuals 65 years of age and older, but can also affect individuals as young as 30 years of age.
Our GLA:D® trained physiotherapist uses education and exercise to help with daily activities. We will work on strengthening the body, as well as learning to move correctly and manage symptoms to improve pain.
What’s Included:
· Initial one on one assessment with a GLA:D® trained Physiotherapist, explaining the program and collecting data on your current functional ability.
· Two FREE education sessions teaching patients about osteoarthritis and exercise, and how the GLA:D® Australia exercise improves joint stability, and how to retain this improved joint stability outside of the program.
· 12 supervised group exercise sessions, twice a week for 6 weeks, to improve muscle control of the joint which leads to reduction in symptoms and improved quality of life.
· Follow up one on one assessment, 3 months after the initial assessment
