Dry Needling
Our physiotherapists are trained in dry needling as a specific treatment modality. Dry needling is another form of soft tissue treatment that is a useful adjunct to your manual therapy. Dry Needling is a technique of inserting a single-use sterile fine filament needle into a muscular trigger point/knot to help with the release of tight muscles.
Dry needling provides an overall relaxation effect systemically through the release of chemicals and hormones in the body. Dry needling can also be very effective in the relief of referred nerve pain and can target points of pain much deeper than by soft tissue therapy using the hands.
Your Physiotherapist will be able to discuss with you if dry needling is appropriate for your condition.
